I want to have a play with Enterprise Replication on 7.31IDS/HP-UX10.20 to replicate a small but critical database. No I can't use HDR because we use blobs in blobspaces. The latest EntRep manual on the IBM/Imix page is (out)dated Feb 1998 (ref. 000-4350) and has a HUGE section devoted to setting this up using the well-defunct IECC; AGS server studio has no tool for it so the command-line options seem to be the only way. Have any of the clever squad out there built a front-end for CDR - either menuing, X or Win***s gui? Malc -- XS2Mail: Check your mail anywhere http://www.xs2mail.com/
ISA is the replacement for IECC and has a web-based tool for starting up ER. "Malc_p " <malc_p@btinterne To: ids@iiug.org t.com> cc: Sent by: Subject: CDR gui/front-end? Malc The Feb 1998 manual is OK, Use the front for an overview then go straight to Ch11 and use the command line to undertake the setup. If you can get hold of a training course guide this is useful as well. If you have Informix Server Administrator installed there is a section (at the bottom) which enables setup of ER/CDR although I have never used it personally (I much prefer a command line !!). I've got half a dozen out of 300 plus table replicated one way to an MI server (no blobs involved), come back off-line if you need any help with your setup.
