conversion to binary coded decimal in Informix 4GL

Hi everybody, Any body can help me on this. We don't have ESQLC . We have only 4GL. I need this very urgently because one of our bank asking some of the fields from database need to convert to BCD and generate a ascii file. I can convert the whole file to BCD format but not the field level. So anybody knows in informix 4GL to convert the value to BCD(binary coded decimal) . If yes, then which function should I use...? Such a function does not exist. However, if you can write a "C" function to convert an arbitrary ASCII string to BCD it is trivial to make that function be 4GL callable and either link it into your C4GL program or if you are using R4GL into a custom runner.
