I am assuming you are in 4gl environment. Break up your applications into logical sections. Within each section set up directories for source, object, forms source, forms object, source help, compiled help, QC source, QC object. Set up scripts to recompile sections or all sections. We work on source in QC area....when done we move code into production area. Hope this helps you.
