loader error with informix shared object

We have recently upgraded OSF1 from v3.0 to v4.0 and Informix from 7.20.UC3 to 7.24.FC6. We use ESQL/C and I have recompiled all the source code. The compilation appeared to work fine and all binaries were created. When I run the software I get the following:- 1052:/home/cmmis/bin/cm01: /sbin/loader: Fatal Error: cannot map isqls07a.so The file exists :- /home/informix/lib/esql/isqls07a.so The error is the same no matter which program I try to run. We have the same software on HP-UX 10.20 using INFORMIX 7.13.UC1Z4 which works fine. The isqls07a.so file does not exist on this box though. Can anyone help please?
