REPLACE function - ?

hi all This is what I am trying to do: Select REPLACE(name,'[^[:alphanum:]]','') as New_Name, name from company I want to replace ANYTHING that is not alpha-numeric in the name i am guessing what is needed is a custom stored proc but just thought i would check first.....Thanks
