RE: Cooked vs Raw in 11.5 on Linux
Posted in 2010
Just to add something here doing some testing on Solaris10/IDS11.5 we saw between 35 and 80% performance DROP when we enable DIRECT_IO. Raw was quicker by 20% Cheers Paul -----Original Message----- From: ids-bounces@iiug.org [mailto:ids-bounces@iiug.org] On Behalf Of Art Kagel Sent: Friday, May 14, 2010 1:45 PM To: ids@iiug.org Subject: Re: Cooked vs Raw in 11.5 on Linux [20168] IB RAW is still better. We've had inconsistent results from using COOKED devices and files with Linux and DIRECT_IO. I prefer the consistency of RAW. Art Art S.
