Adding NO LOCK to SQL?
Posted in 1996
Our Director over our DBA group announced today that we in application development need to go back to all our existing applications and add 'NO LOCK' to all our SQL statements. If we don't, he claims that Informix 7.12 will automatically put a share lock on the row that has been read and will not release the lock until the transaction is committed. I cannot believe that Informix automatically assumes pestimistic locking in all cases. Does anyone know if this is true or not? philcya@aol.com Phil Yandel | "I believe that life is 10% what happens to me yandel@ceco.ceco.com | and 90% how I react to it." h#yande@ccmail.ceco.com | - Chuck Swindoll PhilCYa@aol.com | | All opinions are my own....no one else wants them
