The Server side ini file allows users and applications to be vetted against various criteria before it will allow them to connect. We have [sort-of] solved the End-user Computing ODBC access problem by allowing free connect to a separately configured read-only instance (views across to live), while letting certified applications and users connect read/write to live. It is another layer of management but not too onerous (in our circumstances anyway). rgds Peter Tashkoff <tashkop@zespri.co.nz> Zespri International Limited This posting may not be used by any party to vilify another.
