Bug (?) in Online ??!!
Hello netters,
I've seen some strange behavior when deleting rows in table.In the record
there are one reference to blob area ( xxxx BYTE in blob_xxxx ). When I
delete the record, the space for the blob should also be freed ( automa-
tically (?) or isnt it so ?? ). The row disappears, but the free space
for the blob_space chunk ISNT added ???? What I am doing wrong or is there
a bug in the Online ???
PS1: Before I delete the record in the first db_space, I copy it to the
second table. In the second table the blob is actually going to the optical
platter. It is there and it disappears from the first one ( from dbaccess
I look the status of the tables and the line counts are OK !)
PS2: Yes, I did a tbmode -c and tbmode -l and backed up the logical log
Hardware: HP9000/G30 HP-UX rev. 9.0
Software: Informix Online/Optical Version 5.01.UD1
PS3: Are there any hope that in the future you can drop a chunk ?????
Or is the only way to drop the whole dbspace/dobspace ?????
( We have about 25 Gigabytes of stuff, if I want to take some
drives off it a REAL pain to do export/import for the whole db ??!!)
