Where do I have to designate that I want to use >the "WITH HOLD" clause ? I notice that you have another message in this newsgroup. I have had similar problems. You aren't trying to customise Pessimistic locking by any chance are you? My advice is to try and not get too involved with cursors and setChangeFlag. If you are doing it to get around a particular problem you find that you cause another one somewhere else. When I tried to customise pessimistic locking I had 3 problems, staledata, releasing locks and prompting for update. I could solve any 2 of the 3 but not all of them. I gave up and went for optimistic locking although it is not quite what we want. Cheers -- Mike Ripley
