Neither are we because you tell us nothing about your application or the platform on which it is running, nor the versions of the Informix software you are using. Handling blobs correctly is relatively hard, or (perhaps more accurately) it is very easy to get things confused so that the fault is in the application. The message doesn't match any normal Unix error messages, so are you running on NT? Is the database on NT too or is it on a Unix server? Are you using ODBC (I-CLI) or ESQL/C or NewEra or I4GL or D4GL or what? Which version of all these bits and pieces are you using? Have you got Purify or BoundsChecker working for you? How sure are you that your code is handling blobs correctly? Etcetera, etcetera, etcetera... I'm sorry if my response is too brusque for comfort, but you will quickly learn that you can get help from this group quite rapidly if you specify your problem completely in the terms I outlined above -- you don't always need all the possible information, but you do need to give some indication of what you are using when you run into the problem.
