sqlexecd problem with Informix SE with sesoctcp

Hi I'm having problems attempting to start the sqlexecd daemon in order to get enable connections with the SE. My sqlhosts file contains the line dbmain sesoctcp main infrmx /etc/services has the line infrmx 1536/tcp When I try to start sqlexecd I get the following error. daemon err = 25507: The specified service name or protocol is unknown The service name looks alright to me so I'm assuming the problem is with sesoctcp. Does anyone have ideas on what I'm doing wrong ? We're using Informix-SE 7.23 on SCO 5.0.5 Thanks Clint.
Clint, SCO UNIX does NOT SUPPORT sockets. Set your parameter in sqlhosts to 'setlitcp' (tli = transport layer interface). This should work (still requires the service set up the same). Your client connections (assuming the're PC rather then SCO) can still use sesoctcp to connect to this. Thanks guys. Worked a treat. I couldn't find this info in the docs anywhere. Cheers Clint. jeffm@lysander.co.uk wrote: > Clint, > > SCO UNIX does NOT SUPPORT sockets. > > Set your parameter in sqlhosts to 'setlitcp' (tli = transport layer > interface).
