Whether aimed at IBM or at IIUG, it really is tiresome. Sometimes I get to wondering if the really vocal naysayer's are *trying* to kill IDS, by simply discouraging enough people to abandon the cause. Instead of building upon positive accomplishments and moving forward, all they can seem to do is either say, "That is not enough", or "IBM does not really mean that, they are just trying to fool you", or, as you say Mark, simply twisting something positive around to seem like something completely negative. I would *like* to say to these folks, "If you don't have something positive to say, then don't say anything at all." However, I fully realize that this is really just spitting into the wind; undoubtedly, this post itself will incur ridicule. Mark, please keep up the good work. To put a little different twist on Mr. Lincoln's quote, You can please some of the people all of the time, and you can please all of the people some of the time, but some people just cannot be pleased at all -- no matter what you say. Please be assured that there are still quite a few of us that *do* see what you and others are doing, that *do* see the recognition progress that IDS is making among the IBM executive ranks, that *do* see the huge number and quality of improvements in IDS that IBM has invested in. Personally, I applaud the IBM decision to start up an Informix CAC. And I am anticipating much more progress for IDS within IBM in the near future. Keep on keepin' on, Mark!!! HTH, Paul Mosser
