select * from tab into temp with no log

Helps please, When I select join from tables tinto temp with no log, I ran into error 229. I don't seem to have any problem if select from a single table, even if with complicate criteria. There are plenty of space in temp dbspaces, and log dbscpces. Any suggestion what the problem might be? Thanks, chariya
