But when u have multiple disks you can spread the load. The applications I mess with tend to do a fair number of hits on the temp spaces, so it's good value to spread them around. YMMV I suppose. Also, letting much happen in rootdbs is one of those intangible risk factors... let sleeping dogs lie, and also rootdbs's :-)
