We are running KAIO on a AIX and we have not seen any degree in performance because of KAIO. The file-system is almost as fast as using KAIO. We have tested some small OLTP test and some long running bacth jobs. The OLTP test didn't show any deferance, the batch ran 10 to 15 minuts faster using KAIO (raw-devices) than using the file-system. But it was a bacth laod that took about 10-12 hours. But read the AIX manual about raw-devices and KAIO. Their is some interesting things to know about KAIO and raw-devices on a AIX. Bjarne W. Jensen /Alm. Brand Denmark
