Get this: you can write your *own*! So now, from the vendor side, we get to wait and see what *you* do about it! One of the unsung beauties of the Universal Server is your ability as an end-user/developer to write your own functions, build your own index methods (not just an index, but an entire indexing scheme) and to define for yourself the functions that support it. All on data types that you also get to define. One of the features on IUS is functional indices. That is where the engine stores the output of a function in the index. Perhaps that would help... This is gonna be a lot of fun! ______________________________________________________ Clem Akins (aka clema@informix.com) Informix Software, Inc (Standard disclaimers apply) International Technical Support Last seen: Enjoying the rain and cold of Auckland in July!
