The only problem we have with NT is the connection to the database and that is because of the way authentication is done by NT. With 2 similar machines, one on NT and another on a Unix, configured the same, the performance is the same (once connected). If your NT is slower, then either the machine is different, the configuration is different or you have other software or external influences affecting your server. Our results would show the effects of the NT also being the application server. UNIX seems to cope FAR more gracefully for that, but NT seems to get bogged down far too easily.
