In Steve Price's trip report about the IWUC (as it was known within the company!), he notes: > The next release of INFORMIX On-LINE, Version 6, is to be announced > soon. Two phase commit, stored procedures, more online transaction > speed and power, and other features are included which Mr. Sippl > claimed will make it obvious that INFORMIX engines running on UNIX > are not just capable of doing enterprise-wide on-line transactions, but > are the "best" approach. Actually, 2PC and stored procedures are features in the current version of OnLine, Version 5.0. It has many other features as well, many of them oriented toward OLTP. I recommend that our users contact their sales reps for technical briefs on 5.0. Thanks. -b
