It happens when a PC user with terminal emulation under windows just crashes his PC or exits Windows without properly terminating the application. 4GL programs then loose their controlling terminal and go berserk. Kill -15 usually helps, but sometimes kill -12 is necessary. Kill -9 only as a last resort, and NEVER for the sqlturbo process if you are using Online!
