"Network Connection is Broken"

Hi all, Currently I am dealing with a ... kid of bizarre problem ... From times to times when i try to do a query through dbaccess i get a "25582 error: Network connection is broken". If i try to redo the query then I am getting a "349 error:Database not selected". The strange thing is that i get this errors when i try to query the db from the server that the db is running, whereas i can connect normally from other servers. Additionally there are no other messages in the online.log (i have seen that other ppl having the same problem they had error messages in the online.log). The vesion is 9.4 HC 7running on an HP-U11i server. To state here that the problems appears from times to times and not always. Anyone seen something like this before? Cheers Alex

Usually it's due to a network timeout. Happened to one of my middleware servers just this AM. Restarting the task it was able to reconnect and ran all day after that. My newer servers have reconnect logic for when this happens, they just reconnect to IDS and reprepare their statements and redeclare their cursors. This old one hasn't been updated with that logic yet. 8^( Art S. Kagel

The only think that troubles me is why this happens when the socket connection is on the same machine and not remotely. I have seen that i have a couple of sockets in TIME_WAIT state. Do you think that this could be related to the problem? BR-s / Alex
