SQLRetriever in MS Excel talking to Informix problem

Hello. I am trying to get SQLRetriever (from Visionware) to work using ODBC from inside a MS Excel 5.0 spreadsheet. I am using the sqlrequest() function, and I can't seem to find the right setup string. I have SQLRetriever set up to talk to Informix 4.1 on our Sun (running SunOS 4.1.3_U1 if that helps). The manual for SQLRetriever says that Excel (version 4) does not support ODBC directly, and to use MS Query, MS Access or to use some DDE macros that they supply. The sqlrequest() function of Excel V5 is not mentioned. No matter what I put for the setup string, the best I can get is something like "User name/password combination is invalid." - Ben Kelley. --- This e-correspondance is PostcardWare (tm).
