If you can re-map the keyboards to match > each other (X and wy) then should it matter what informix is storing? Yes it does matter. I can only remap the keyboard for specific applications i.e for Chameleon and IQ. I can not remap the keyboard for Informix. Therefore when a user creates a customer with one of the special characters then Informix stores the character specific to that keyboard therefore a user on the other terminal type cannot query for it. I cannot beleive that this is trail-blazing stuff. Someone somewhere must have encountered and worked around this. Maybe I am addressing the wrong news group.
