Informix error messages

Hi all, We are currently running Informix Online on a HP D200 with HPUX 10.20. The informix version is "INFORMIX-OnLine Version 7.11.UC1". We suffered yet 2 times the following problem : after rebooting the server, informix refuses to start. The message is : Either the INFORMIXDIR or DBLANG environment variable is set incorrectly. INFORMIXDIR is setup correctly and DBLANG is left unset which corresponds to the default. Changing the value to point to the default doesn't change the situation. The only way for us to restart informix was to reinstall it using the tape! Informix support cannot find anything on the subject. Any ideas will be welcome.
