They do indeed - thank you. An now here's the miracle... the character that you quote above (a pound sign ''') appears on my screen as an E with an accent over it. Undaunted, I copied it to a file which I edited and loaded into the database. My application reads the DB to find what to set DBMONEY to. When it uses this record I of course (?) see that same "E-accent" in the money fields on my screen. But I go over to a neighbour's PC and run the application there, and lo and behold the stylised L appears as the prefix in the money fields. Which gives me every hope that my British users will see it the same way.
