inetd keepalive problem

Hi, ( HP9000 K-Series hp-ux 10.20 IDS 7.23UD3 ) I am unable to resolve this pain in the neck problem. has anyone solved this before ? We have client PCs logging into the database server using a client/server application. Sometimes, the users switch the PC off and go home and not close the application correctly This leaves an active thread on the engine with no TTY port which will not die ! I know this has something to do with a 'keepalive' parameter on the inetd daemon. But I'm tearing my hair out trying to find it. I looked in the kernal params /etc/rc.conf.d /etc/inetd.conf Any help would be V. much appreciated Best Regards Graham Mitchell graham.mitchell@aethos.co.uk
