Informix Online DS on HP9000 with LVM?

Earlier this year there was some discussion in comp.databases.informix on whether one should use Informix's own mirroring or use the mirroring provided with LVM and mirror/UX on HP9000 series 800 (and in the 700 series with HP-UX 10.0). We were adviced to not use LVM at all with Informix 5.02. Now were planning upgrade to 7.10, and would like to know some hard facts. If you use LVM, do you also stripe the disks in LVM and just make one big chunk on Online? Then make a lot of AIO vp's to keep the LVM busy? No fragmenting on Online?
