About this here meteorite...

(Something I wrote last week. Topically this does not belong here, but who in the heck would care about it if not my peers?) cheers j. (NASA discovers microbes on a Martian meteorite from Antarctica) About this here meteorite.... So evidently this rock they found in the south of Antartica (there's a tautology) came from Mars. What has yet to be explained to me is how exactly this rock managed to detach itself from that planet and decide to make its way here. Is Martian gravity different from ours? Perhaps their gravity is a bit less grave and in fact expels anything from the planets surface which isn't bolted down. Think of the marketing opportunities for our nut and bolt manufacturers if this is the case. But suppose this is not the case - as scientists will no doubt claim. In that case the Martians have had an extra-planetary meteorite capability for some time now. Is our Department of Defense aware of this and what steps are they taking to counter it? What is even more worrisome is that the Martians have had this capability for about 4.5 billion years now, so much for our claims of winning the space race. What about the microbes themselves? Why did they pick Antartica to land on? Did they want to get out of the heat or something? Was this some sort of packages tourist deal gone sour? In that case can we have the name of their travel agent so we know not to use it? _____________________________________________________________________________ Jack Parker - Hewlett Packard, DMD/IS Boise, Idaho, USA jparker@boi.hp.com Currently on loan to PLD/PE _____________________________________________________________________________ If anything can go wrong, fix it.
