Do what I do to this sort of message; mail them directly with 1 succinct 1 line message expressing your displeasure. Then repeat it 1000 times. Yes, I know it wastes bandwidth and might be childish - but if even a small fraction of people do it, the perpetrators won't be able to sort signal from noise - which is what they're trying to do to us. Pity they didn't post an 800 phone number :)
