If onstat - hangs. And you can't kill it with a kill -9 as root
you are having an OS problem. You need to contact HP regarding this
issue.
What we do is use HP's q4 utility to get a kernel stack trace from a
hung onstat -. We have to use q4 to get the stack, because usually
xdb will hang trying to attach to the onstat - process. After
getting a kernel stack trace you will see that the hung process
is stuck in kernel mode. This is a known HP problem, that is addressed
by an HP patch.
