What you should do is define a table in your database which will contain the correct information, and you select the the information from that table. You would key the information by printer type. For HP Laserjets, I think that the value for the pound symbol (meaning the squiggly L which is used for Pounds Sterling and not the hash or octothorpe or whatever you want to call the # which the Americans think is a pound sign) is ASCII(163), but I don't have a manual at hand to confirm that.
