We run a similar setup but to HP9000 / HPUX instead of AIX but I don't think the setup on the PC needs be much different. You will need to have a TCP/IP stack on each client PC if you are going to use I-Net over TCP/IP and the stack will provide the winsock.dll. I think that this is probably going to be easier than getting your RS box to speak ipx/spx. We use the FTP product PCTCP to provide the TCP/IP stack on each client and this seems to work fine. Basically you have to purchase and install the TCP product on each PC. Then configure I-Net and I-Star. The manuals supplied by Informix are a masterpiece of brevity, almost to vanishing point, and I only fully (?) understood them after we had the whole thing working.
