Re: problem with select count(distinct
Posted in 2006
Clive Eisen reported that SELECT COUNT(DISTINCT ...) returned wrong results on IDS 10.00.UC5 when an index existed on the distinct column, while removing the index gave correct answers — apparently a regression from an earlier fix for a composite-index bug. Another poster confirmed the bug on UC5 and said it was corrected in the UC5W5 interim build. No fix was available in the IIUG download; the only advice given was to obtain supported/patched builds via an IBM maintenance contract or PartnerWorld membership (fix expected in UC6).

Hi,
I do see the same problem in 10.00.UC5 but I think it got fixed in
10.00.UC5W5 as it is returning the correct results..
Thanks,
Radhika.

I've just had another cup of coffee and re-read this
Please ignore me regarding unique etc etc
The rest of the post however is correct

if you need bugs fixed then you need a maintenance contract and the official veriosn of the product from IBM if you are member of partnerworld and have elected to purchase the value package (I believe its around $2000) you have access to all IBM PA products for your own internal use and you are entitled to electronic support through PA for those products! Once a fix for this problem is made generally available (UC6) it will appear on the partnerwolrd site immediately. As my post made abundantly clear this is the download from IIUG I'm doing a proof of concept and trying to hide the bug from my potential client who would be paying for IDS. What would you suggest I do? -- Clive
if you have a potential client then I qassume you are a IBM parytner and would benefit from joining partnerworld and obtain support for informix through the partnerworld program Clive Eisen wrote: > scottishpoet wrote: > > if you need bugs fixed then you need a maintenance contract and the > > official veriosn of the product from IBM > No shit - I'd never have guessed. > > > > > if you are member of partnerworld and have elected to purchase the > > value package (I believe its around $2000) you have access to all IBM > > PA products for your own internal use and you are entitled to > > electronic support through PA for those products!
