deadlock: logical log full

Hi I work with Infomix Online Server 7.12 on OS Windows NT 4.0. I got the error LOGICAL LOG IS FULL now I am in the deadlock situation, because I have to backup the logical log. This is not possible because the next logical log file is already used. all log files are flaged U (used) how can I free the logical log ???? Thanks for your Help Heike
