Iam using ONBAR-VERITAS for the backups. We perform the whole system serial backup and it completes in 11 hrs for 400 GB data. This performance throughout is applicable for our QAS system as well though it comes over the network to our master server which is our PRD system. Therefore, i can rule out the network issue. Our PRD has Sun storedge 3510 FC array and QAS has T3 array. Level-0 runs weekly and level-1 runs daily on both PRD & QAS. We dont use CCFLAGS parameter in our onconfig. I also dont see any arc_very_old_pages() funtion execution during the bkup. Some of the dbspaces are quite big say around 70-100 gb. But then if thats the case ,we should have problems during level-0 as well but we didnt. It is performing as expected during level-0. What could be the reason for level-1 to take longer time than level-0 ? Regards Rajesh Rajasekaran Informix Database Administrator Forest Pharmaceuticals Inc.
