Unless of course he means 40-60 an hr based on experienced. I can never figure out if they use a 2K hour business year or they equate a $40 an hour contract == $40K a year. -Uncle Mikey

This is not "contract" work as you would typically expect. The market is different if your client is only looking for programmers with 2 to 8 years of experience (leaning heavily towards the 2 years end of that) and is looking for full-time employees (not contractors). Contractors would of course pull in more compensation. Especially those with 5 to 8 years of specific Informix experience. I have already found two programmers who are excited about moving up from their current full-time jobs to my client's full-time opportunity. They are impressed with the company, it's involvement with the internet, and the potential for advancement of their careers. As for the hours/year, 2K hours/year is common as is 2080 hours/year. However, for those who are not wanting the uncertainty of contract work, the hourly pay calculation is not as critical. They are more focussed on the annual salary. That is the standard by which those jobs are measured. Again, positions on this job are still available. It is not aimed at the typical contractor as addressed above. If you or someone you know is afraid of the uncertainty of contracting, but needs a change of scenery; consider this opportunity!
