POSITION TITLE: Information Systems Engineer - Informix-4GL Salary OPEN Permanent Position Only: No Contractors or Third Party OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES Performs 'Business Systems' applications development work with clients. Responsibilities include development, implementation, modification, and customization of Informix 4GL systems and applications. Work normally performed in a 'Team' environment. PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS General Requirements - Essential Work with users to understand requirements for new applications development and existing applications enhancements; translate those requirements to design and programming specifications. Work on project team to analyze specifications and develop new programs as needed. Develop test plans, perform unit and system testing, and assist users with acceptance testing of enhancements and new features. Develop system documentation and other documentation required by operations. Customize, optimize and maintain current applications. Work closely with Project Leaders to estimate work to be performed, track work against plan and report status weekly in a timely manner. Work closely with Project Manager to develop training and career plans and set goals in accordance with both team and individual plans. Perform other job-related duties and special projects as assigned. MANDATORY QUALIFICATIONS Required Travel 65% or 4 days out three days in. 5+ years experience with applications development in the Information Technology field 3+ years Informix-4GL applications development engineering & programming experience 2+ years of applications development engineering experience in a UNIX environment. Ability to research and analyze problems, and provide alternative solutions in a timely manner. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate effectively with management, staff, clients and vendors.
