Why should they keep it consistent? Are they not allowed to improve and extend the products capabilities and installation procedures? If that entails changing the install script then they should be able to change it. It is your responsibility as an installer to read the installation instructions and follow them not just to assume that the package will install the way you think it should install or the way it used to install. This guy assumed it would install in a way it has never even been documented to work!! Now if after following the instructions the things still don't install then you might have a legitimate complaint.
