Is there more than one row that satisfies the aggregate? For instance,
if you select MAX(), is there > 1 row with that MAX value? I discovered
that select UNIQUE MAX() is safer; if this solves your problem we're
seeing performance differences between NE & ISQL (i.e.: a bug)
