As meybe zome of you know, the dreaded Oracle has a wonderfull administration tools called "Enterprise Manager". With it you can monitor RDBMS-performance, do some tuning and act on events. This with a fantastic user-interface. SQLServer also has such a tool, that has even better integration with mail and paging services in case of certain events. The tools Informix supplies are (maybe an understatement) not that good. The functionality mentioned above can be achieved, but you have to write your own scripts. Is there a (maybe universal) RDBMS-manager available, that lets me do the things mentioned above on our Informix databases (7.20 on Alpha/NT, 7.23 on Alpha/NT, 7.23 on Intel/NT and 7.24 on SUN/Solaris)? > Nils van der Laan > E-Mail: Nils.van.der.Laan@Simac.NL > >
