Here's a kludge I've used when necessary: name your windows according to some predetermined convention known to the library routine, and pass it a parameter indicating which window should regain control. Here's a routine that shows a message in a separate message window, and then returns the focus the window specified by a parameter. > function msg_show(msg, w) > define msg char(75) > define w char(1) > > current window is mwind > message msg clipped attribute (reverse) > case w > when "p" > current window is pwind > when "k" > current window is kwind > when "d" > current window is dwind > when "i" > current window is iwind > end case > end function It's ugly, but I don't know any more general work-around, at least in the version of the language that I have available ... -- Harry Bochner bochner@das.harvard.edu
