We bought support a year ago or so to solve a problem which we knew was a bug but couldn't get solved any other way. We got very good support: the engineer logged into our system to see the problem because a test case was so difficult to create. He went away, found the problem and then got a patch written as the bug was new (AVG returns wrong results when hash jon used and nulls involved). We have the patched version, which does fix the bug BUT it comes with a different bug which is even worse so I am still waiting... I used support before (for free) when I found the 4GL form compiler crashed on a mode ANSI database. It took some time to get Informix to agree that their product was faulty and that I didn't need to pay. Why are we expected to pay to get software companies to listen when their products are demonstrably faulty? The people who sell cars and any consumer goods don't act like this. -- Peter Lancashire Information Systems Specialist, Bayer plc Eastern Way, Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, IP32 7AH, UK Tel: +44-1635-562258, Fax: +44-1635-562281 Mail: Peter.Lancashire.PL1@bayer.co.uk --- My Internet plumbing does not allow me to mail and post news together.
