Online 5.05 - bringing on mirrored dbspaces at a later date?

We intend to mirror all our dbspaces. Does anyone know how easy this would be? Suppose every chunk has a mirror ready and waiting Chunk Mirror online1 m_online1 online2 m_online2 . . . . . . How easy would it be to make this happen. Does the database need to be down? If it does should it be relatively simple to setup the mirroring. As ever, any help gratefully received!
