Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.
I am just starting out with Informix 7.x and while getting ready
to recompile all my old source files, saw I have the option to
choose -shared and do dynamic linking. I noticed some of my executables
dropped in size to about a 5th. This would be great - less storage
space and initial memory; but what would I lose in the process?
I would love to hear from folks who have run these Dynamically Linked exes
for a while.
One problem I anticipate is unresolved stuff by the linking process
turning into run-time errors. I hope I am wrong on this one!
