An additional problem is that I > want to select the client record, and the contact record, but if a > contact record is not present, I still want the client record anyway. > Harry Skelton - 1848 Beaver Dam Lane - Marietta, Georgia - 30062 Harry, You don't say how it is inconsistent so it is difficult to say why it is not working for you. (If that was your description to support, you could wait a very long time!! :-)). As for the other try an outer join (Eg. from clnt, outer clnt_contact). This will pick up clnt rows where no contact rows exists. But, depending on the query parameters entered for clnt_contact attributes through the construct, it may not always give you the results you expect. Unfortunately the results probably will match the relational query rules! Cheers - Jim My opinions are my own.
