System table corrupt!

4GL - 4.10.UC1 SQL - 4.10.UC1 SE - 4.10.UC2 As a result of an ungraceful degradation of an Informix application on a standard engine, the sysmenus table is presumed "locked by another user", and most likely corrupt as well. All attempts at accessing it or its contents using SQL and the bcheck() utility simply hang. I cannot unlock it, drop it, modify it, etc. I can recreate it and its contents if I can figure out a way of removing it from the database. Or, rebuilding it would be an option if there is some non-standard way of circumventing or breaking locks on a table. Remember, locks for this version of Informix are in shared memory, not in the filesystem as a ".lok" file. Any suggestions, comments, groans, or whatever would be appreciated. Please respond via email, and I can summarize if there's enough interest. Surely this is a common problem. What's up? -- Bruce W.
