index width
Can someone tell me the correct way to get the index_width(s) from a
table:
i.e.; I have (in 4gl) a cursor stepping thru sysindexes using the tabid,
and collecting
the sum of the collength from syscolumns - in my scenario the table has
2 indexes-
one serial and one integer. Using the perf/tuning documentation (chapter
on this
subject) you are supposed to add 4 for the overhead for each index.
So for the serial and int are both 4 each + 8 for the overhead for both
= 16.
The output from dbschema is 28 ( index_width = 28 etc...)
What am i missing???
