There is very strict checking in the newer versions, and nearly none in the older. If you just compile the old stuff and run it you could have *run-time* errors whenever you encounter a function with the wrong number of arguments. In the release notes there was an environment variable you could set which would disable the strict arg count checking, (I can't remember what the name of it is) but that's just buying some time. Also, there are data types in the newer versions which did not exist before. After the conversion you may find lots of unnecessary old code which jumps thru hoops to accomplish things that are very easy under the new version. (Things like datetime, interval, etc.) Good luck, __________________________________________________________________ | Clem Akins Standard Disclaimers Apply | |Reynolds Metals Co, Alloys Plant "Climb High, Cave Deep!" | | Muscle Shoals, Alabama USA cwakins@leia.alloys.rmc.com | |________________________________________________________________|
