Ghost in the Machine type oddity!

Anyone have experience with this? I run IFX SE 5.02 on sunos4.1.3 I have a table with a single character column called "fxflag" I have an esqlc program that references this flag for processing. Heres the good part - This flag (in fact the table itself) is never updated except thru a perform screen. Yet unpredictably, after running the program I will find this flag set to NULL when it had a valid value prior to running the program. This program DOES NOT UPDATE, INSERT, or DELETE - only selects into a cursor, then uses the data values. prior to running - table.fxflag == 'Y' or 'N' after running - table.fxflag == NULL not all rows - just one or more This behaviour occurs unpredictably about 10-20% of the time I run the program! No other program in my system (there are about 150 esql/c & 4gl programs that deal with this database) has a similar effect & this program is written along the same general lines as all the rest. WEIRD!!!! Any ideas? -- Mike Stenzler 70 Hudson St. 201.798.5784 Mgr. Info. Sys. Hoboken, NJ 201.798.6367 fax RPCG, Inc. 07030 rpcg@panix.com All content my opinion only - not RPCG's.
