I'm pretty sure, we exported the data to an ASCII file, and then inported the data back into the new database. Here are some of the problems we ran into: 1. Corrupt data in the 5.x SE database; therefore, we had to "strip" the corrupt records out using an editor. 2. The default read was DIRTY READ in the 4.x 4GL tools, but once we migrated to 6.x 4GL; the code had to be changed to include setting reads to DIRTY. If you don't, and you are doing a big query, then it takes a LOT of LOCKS and we all know that we usually do not want a LOT of LOCKS in the online configuration. It took me about a month to convince the developer that he needed to make this change, so naturally do the time it took for him to change all the code, we had LOTS of problems running out of locks in the engine and reports not being generated. 3. It takes longer than you think. Best of Luck! Call if you need some help.
